2. Trout Lake, East Vancouver – Residential Remodel
· Presented by Dominic Auger (Cartographer, homeowner)
· Existing 1958 2000 ft² two level home- single-pane windows, leaky roof, former grow-op, recent remodel to create 2 bdrm. Basement. Suite; 3 bedrooms upstairs; 2 wood fireplaces;
· 1 km walk to park, skytrain
· Lane access
· New remodel ideas: Net Zero energy; radiant heat floor; solar hot water; passive solar design; high efficiency gas furnace; tubular lighting; rainwater harvesting system; partial green roof; upgrade insulation
· $20,000 estimate from Homeworks for energy upgrades

3. Burnaby- 27 story MURB
· Presented by Lillian Seow (Design & Construction manager)
· 8000 ft² building footprint; 61,000 ft² site
· Behind Metrotown Skytrain station
· Passive design
· Owners willing to contemplate radical strategies
· Currently at schematic stage
· Support from Busby, Perkins, and Will architects and Cobalt engineering

4. Crawford Bay, West Kootenays- Mountain Retreat Cabins
· Presented by Tim Tewsley (Facilities Manager)
· 10 Hectare site close to Nelson, BC
· Design nine to twelve 500 ft²“Techno-Rustic” cabins for extended stay retreat use
· Potential for off-grid energy supply; electrical service is available
· Co-op ownership; possibly time/share month long family stays
· Auxiliary to carbon neutral committed Yoga Retreat centre
· Site selection stage- Construction start September 2009
· View of Kootenay lake to W-SW; Mountains East side
5. Ladysmith, Vancouver Island- Addition to single family house

· 50 m² addition proposed for east side

· Medium interest in “green” building- build within budget, ignore “green” labelling
· Challenge: interface between green addition/ exist. Bldg.
6. Summerland- Commercial Winery and Office space

7. Bunky Kit- Chateau-ette- small pre-fab cabins

· Multi-use: street level retail, basement restaurant, office uses
· Almost completed
· Opportunities with interior finishing

9. Woodwards block- Rehabilitating for commercial use
